The life cycle of a product includes all the stages necessary for its existence, from the extraction and processing of raw materials, through production, distribution and use, to proper disposal, with the possibility of incorporating its waste into new production cycles.

This process aims to look beyond the boundaries of the company and is not necessarily concerned with the competencies of the sector being assessed.

BioE
BioE

• Most of the social and environmental impacts related to a product do not occur where it is produced, but along the value chain;

• Life cycle assessment makes it possible to quantify environmental burdens and weigh up the positive and negative impacts that a product, system or process has on the environment. The analysis involves all the stages of the process, from raw materials to post-consumption, up to the final destination of the waste.

It is therefore essential that the set of activities or parties that provide or receive value, in the form of products or services (suppliers, workers, customers, partners, etc.), comprises the entire chain of activities related to the production of your solutions and services. By thinking through the life cycle approach, all stakeholders can make more conscious decisions that generate positive impacts on the environment, society and the economy.
